Tattoos and marriage: two things that are forever. And two things that Jamie and Garrett share from one specific spot on our favorite island in the world.

A few weeks before their wedding, Jamie and Garrett got tattoos of the coordinates of the exact spot where they would say their wedding vows. These two don’t do things halfway. They approach things fully and with a huge sense of fun.

Jamie and Garrett, the experience of shooting your wedding in Key West has truly been a dream come true. Your excitement for the day has been infectious, and your sense of fun and joy at the wedding was palpable. More than all of that, the commitment you two have to each other is inspiring. Jamie, your exciting energy can put a smile on anyone’s face. Garrett, just being around you makes others feel calm and at peace. It’s so amazing to see how you bring out certain qualities in each other; your connection is seamless and makes everyone around you better.

I am so happy for the two of you and so honored that I was able to be part of this journey. Thank you for being my first Key West wedding couple! I love that we have a mutual obsession with this magical place, and your wedding will always be a landmark for me. Congratulations on your marriage, and enjoy this sneak peek of photos!

I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you've dreamed of
And I wish you joy and happiness
But above all this I wish you love
And I will always love you

These words, spoken during a speech at Douglas and Jason’s wedding, were met with both laughter and happy tears. Now, it’s normal for a wedding to contain both laughter and tears, but usually they are alternating, not concurrent. Douglas and Jason, and apparently their friends and family, have the magical ability to be deeply vulnerable and authentic while also being ironic and witty at exactly the same time.

Douglas and Jason, following you around on your wedding day was like getting to be part of one of the funniest and most emotionally satisfying movies that I wish everyone could see. Somehow you don’t take yourselves too seriously, finding the ability to make a joke (that lands) pretty much at any moment, while at the same time, you are completely present to the miracle that you actually found each other and are creating this life together as husbands.

I’m so happy to know you two, and I wish you nothing but joy, happiness, and love.

Minton's Playhouse Wedding - Harlem NYC - Rose and Terrence

“I never want this feeling to end.”

I was fourteen years old, and I was hanging out with Rose and Deena in Manhattan (they were real city girls), and we had just ordered in some food and were singing show tunes. We were camp friends (shout out to French Woods!), but we had graduated to also becoming real friends and hanging out even outside of camp. I remember being with them and feeling so free, so accepted, so full of warmth, and I vividly remember thinking “I never want this feeling to end.”

A few months ago, Rose reached out to me as she was putting together her wedding. We hadn’t spoken in over 15 years, but all those feelings came flooding back, and it was like no time had passed at all. It was incredible to catch up, and it was profoundly moving to realize that I would get to be part of her wedding celebration, despite having lost touch over the years. “And Deena will be there!” she said.

Rose and Terrence (and baby bump!), there were so many very special parts of your wedding day. The most obvious was that I was able to reunite with two favorite childhood friends. The most satisfying part, however, was seeing the connection between you two. Terrence, you were instantly warm and inviting (and with a killer sense of humor), and although it’s not surprising, it makes me so happy to see that Rose has found herself a husband that is worthy of her. Rose, I’m so glad we were able to pick up right where we left off, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for you and your growing family. Congratulations to the two of you!

There’s something so beautiful about an intimate wedding. Carolyn and Blake had two: their ceremony at City Hall and an intimate dinner a few weeks later. And just for good measure, we took photos in Washington Square Park with their adorable pup Teddy!

Carolyn and Blake, I’m so thrilled for the two of you. Something that really stood out to me was how in sync you are with each other. I’m honored to have been able to capture these beautiful moments with you, and I’m so excited to share this sneak peek of photos. Enjoy!

Every once in a while, a couple comes along and absolutely steals a bit of my heart. Sarah and Matt are one of those couples.

Sarah and Matt, it makes total sense to me that you hit it off immediately on your first date and have been connected ever since. The way you two work together and understand each other blows me away. While your wedding was momentous, stunning, and had all the grandiosity of a once-in-a-lifetime event, it also didn’t seem like an ending or a beginning. It felt like another part of your journey together. Another step closer in the bond that began at your first date.

You know I am smitten with you two, and we’re now friends for life. :P I am beyond excited to share with you this sneak peek from your wedding day. Enjoy!
